Sunday Sketches SS052 - Garden in Bloom

Here is the final sketch in our 52 weeks of Sunday Sketches.

But never fear it isn't the end of our Sunday Sketches.  Next week I will be making a card using the original SS01 Sunday Sketch.

I am pretty excited to see how the new card and the old card using the same sketch can look totally different.  But back to today's cards sketch.

Sunday Sketches SS052-horz

I used today's sketch for one of the most popular techniques, Triple Time Stamping.  I featured this technique in my 52 Week Series Technique How To.

Border Buddy Saturday - Painted Autumn Bundle Gate Card

Hello Stampers!
It's Border Buddy Saturday and it's Alison here today!  I'm sharing another project that used the Painted Autumn Suite of products including the Painted Harvest stamp set and Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper.

Border Buddy Saturday Painted Harvest Stamp Set 2

I received this gorgeous card in a swap with my Canadian friends.  It was created the super talented Anne Granger and uses a Gate Fold technique.  I love how Anne used the "flower" to create a Christmas Wreath - isn't that clever?  It certainly shows how this stamp set and Designer Series Paper isn't just for flowery cards.

You can't see the sparkle of the Wink of Stella on the Wreath but it adds just that little bit of bling. The "berries" are created with the dot stamp also included in the Painted Harvest stamp set.

Patsy and I love the Painted Autumn Suite and we are featuring it in our Free Card Program for September.  We create a PDF with instructions for 8 cards each month featuring products from "suites" and this month it's Painted Autumn.

So I mentioned that the card today is a Gate Fold which means it opens on both flaps to reveal the message inside.

Just in CASE - Falling Flowers Stamp Set

Okay, what was I thinking when I decided to CASE this card.   While it was a blast to make the PDF Tutorial Directions were a nightmare LOL.

This really was fun to make all the layers and sponging.

Years ago when I first became a demonstrator I had a Mom and 4 daughters who all stamped.   They actually had been stamping way longer than me.

When they hosted a workshop I was always trying to think of amazing things to show them.  For one of their workshops I came up with three amazing techniques (can't remember what they were as it is 18+ years ago)

As I was sponging the edge of the card they asked: "what are you doing"?

Sponging Stamping Technique

I hesitantly said, "sponging the card".  They were so amazed and excited.   I thought WHAT? I spent hours preparing the other techniques and they were impressed with sponging? Yes, there were and I think of them all every time I sponge a card.

Happy to say the youngest daughter Amanda has been a demonstrator on my team for several years now.

The PDF Tutorial for this card will be in tomorrow's newsletter.  Each Friday my newsletter subscribers receive a Free PDF Tutorial for the directions for that week's Just in CASE card.

As always thanks so much for stopping by.   When is the last time you sponged a card?  Let me know just click here to comment.
